• My name is Randy Sullivan. I am a physical therapist and a baseball coach. They call me “The Arm Pain Assassin.” I am one of the best arm pain specialists on the planet and if you ask me why your arm hurts I will tell you … I don’t know. Ok… so maybe that sounds a little arrogant, but you get the point. I know a LOT about throwing, a LOT about arm pain and a LOT about how to get rid of it. But, it’s complicated. You see, there are no “causes” of arm pain — only a multitude of contributors that combine in the perfect storm to create an environment for pain or injury to occur. The first step to managing arm pain is to stop looking for “diagnosis and cause” and start looking for dysfunction and contributors. I don’t need to know exactly why your arm hurts. Because your infinitely intelligent body already knows. And if we’re willing to observe and to listen, it will tell us how to bring you back. This book dives into diagnosing the cause of pain by studying the pain.
  • ScaptivationTM is a progressive training system for establishing mobility, stability, motor control and coordination of the scapular powerhouse to create bulletproof shoulders and elbows for the high velocity throwing athlete.    It’s over 100 pages of text and a nearly an hour of video revealing the process in complete detail. It contains a thorough explanation and demonstration of our assessment process, and vivid written, pictorial, and video based-explanations of over 35 targeted, customized exercises that will start you on the path toward bulletproof durability. When you learn and implement the ScaptivationTM process, your arm will quickly begin to feel healthier and more powerful. You’ll recover at warp speed and your confidence will soar. Coaches will learn a foolproof system for identifying and providing early intervention for arm pain, and physical therapists will be able to apply the process to solve arm pain for their throwing patients.
  • Volume 1 of the Superhuman series focuses on The Fab 4 Pillars of Explosive Pitcher Development.  The 4 types of movement include: frontal plane, transverse plane, diagonal plane, and one-leg drills.  Building power in those planes of motion, transfer specifically to pitcher performance. Superhuman 1 presents over 40 highly intense and specific training exercises. By implementing these workouts, you’ll build the engine necessary to power your development.
  • Volume 2 of the Superhuman series focuses on player assessment. One of the hallmarks of The Ranch training processes is hyper individualization across every facet of training. A thorough comprehensive evaluation is critical to the development of customized plans. This book provides a layman’s guide to physical and biomechanical assessment that will allow you to specifically target training interventions to maximize the return on your efforts.
  • In Volume 3 of the Superhuman series, Coach Sullivan reveals the training interventions to address every deficit or dysfunction found in the assessment. You will know exactly which drills and exercises apply to each of the deficits identified in the Volume 2 evaluation. This type of laser targeted training is vital to developing velocity, command and bullet proof arm health for every player.
  • The Superhuman trilogy provides what experts call “The best pitcher training process ever designed.”  -Paul Reddick, CEO of 90mph Club. When you combine all three volumes you achieve the ultimate trifecta in pitcher develop – comprehensive assessment, targeted training, and explosive power development. Below are the highlights of each volume.   Volume 1 of the Superhuman series focuses on The Fab 4 Pillars of Explosive Pitcher Development.  The 4 types of movement include: frontal plane, transverse plane, diagonal plane, and one-leg drills.  Building power in those planes of motion, transfer specifically to pitcher performance. • FBA SAVAGE Training: Transferring Gains From The Gym To The Field. Why do we call it “SAVAGE” training? “SAVAGE is an admittedly clunky acronym for Specific Adaptation thru Variability, Attractors, and Goal-directed Exercise. And… the word “SAVAGE” sounds really cool! Baseball training programs need to be practical and gains you realize at the gym aren’t worth much if you can’t use them correctly on the field. Therein lies the purpose of this book. In this book I’ll propose a new way to look at weight training, long toss, weighted balls and many other pitcher and hitter training models by fusing the concepts of self-organization and degrees of freedom (Nikolai Bernstein), differential learning and specificity (Frans Bosch), and traditional strength and conditioning within the Dynamic Systems Theory of motor learning.

A Constraints-Led Approach to Baseball Coaching presents a new approach to baseball coaching and practice. Applying a CLA to the player development process across the skill spectrum from the beginners to elite, this book uses practical examples to demonstrate the theoretical principles of the constraints-led coaching style embedded in research showing the numerous benefits of the approach. This book incorporates case studies and examples of how constraints are manipulated to develop more adaptable players that can perform at a higher level with a reduced risk of injury, shifting the reader’s view of skill acquisition from the concept of the one “correct” solution, acquired through repetition, to the ecological dynamics framework focused on variability, adaptability, and self-organization. Individual chapters cover major topics such as hitting, pitching, and fielding for players from Little League to the pros. This book illustrates the underlying principles so that coaches can develop their own practice activities. A Constraints-Led Approach to Baseball Coaching is a key reading for undergraduate students and practicing sports coaches, physical education teachers and sport scientists alike as well as practicing players and coaches in baseball and related sports.
  • FBA SAVAGE Revolution: Overthrow The Status Quo In Baseball Pitcher Development. For years baseball training had been stuck on long-held traditions, as many have been resistant to change. Fortunately, over the past decade, pro organizations, realizing the inconsistency of building rosters around the practice of purchasing aging talent, have begun looking beyond conventional, long-established methodologies to improve player development. One recently hired farm director reported that upper management tasked him “to find 16 MLB wins a year through player development.” That is indeed refreshing. However, changes of this nature have been slow to come. Interdisciplinary siloing and friction from “old school” codgers who cling to the status quo because “it worked for …” have presented significant roadblocks to progress. If we continue to accept the status quo, we should admit that we’re not really in the business of player development. Instead, we’re engaged in an enterprise that is nothing more than scouting, selecting, and eliminating. Count me out on that. I genuinely believe anyone, given the proper training, can change his body into anything he wants it to become. God doesn’t make junk, and human tissue doesn’t have free will. If we properly stretch it, a muscle must get longer. If we properly strengthen it, a muscle must get stronger. If we properly teach it, the body must learn. It has no choice, no say in the matter. This fundamental truth is at the core of SAVAGE Revolution. In this book I’ll propose a new way to look at weight training, long toss, weighted balls and many other pitcher and hitter training models by fusing the concepts an emerging movement science discipline known as ecological dynamics. Ecological dynamics is the foundation of SAVAGE Revolution and the future of baseball player development.
